Volvo Trucks accelerates the development of environmentally friendly trucks. Fully electric vehicles will go on sale next year

In February this year The European Union has decided to regulate the emission of carbon dioxide by lorries. The new regulations apply to vehicles manufactured and registered this year or later. They assume that the average issue is to be reduced by 15%, starting from 2025, and by 30% from 2030 (compared to this year's level).

Volvo Trucks want to accelerate the development in this area and invest in further climate-friendly solutions. Since the beginning of the 1990s, the brand has reduced fuel consumption by one-fifth of the newly produced trucks. A few months ago, the manufacturer provided customers with the first models of vehicles equipped with an electric drive. Already in February, the first fully electric trucks from the pilot lot - a garbage truck and a distribution vehicle - were delivered to two companies in Sweden. This year, serial production will begin.
